Frequently Asked Questions
The Answers You Need
.....Does it hurt?
There's no reason to beat around the bush, sometimes being hit with a paintball can hurt. Most people describe it as a "sting", something like being hit with a rubber band. Sometimes the hit will leave a small welt or bruise. There are things that can be done to reduce the sting ( to your body, though maybe not your ego.)
- Ensure that you have as little exposed skin as possible, long sleeves and pants work great.
- Referees will work to ensure that players maintain a separation of about 15 feet between opposing players
What should I wear?
Glad you asked! It's always a sad day when someone shows up in flip flops and we make them watch from the sidelines.

When coming out to play for the first time we recommend:
-
long sleeves and long pant legs
-
closed toe foot wear that you will be able to run in. Think hiking boots, cleats or running shoes.
-
Something for your head. A baseball cap, bandana or beanie will keep your hair out of your mask, the paint out of your hair and will help to make your mask more secure.
-
Non bulky gloves that will offer protection to your hands while still allowing you to handle the paintball marker.
-
The baggier the better. Tight fitting clothes ( think yoga wear ) will keep the paint off your skin but they won't help to cushion the paintballs. Trust us, its rarely a fashion show out here!
-
Old clothes are best. The paintballs we use today are a food grade material and rarely stain or mark clothing, but you will still be leaning against trees, kneeling on the ground and generally messing up those brand new jeans. Dig a little deeper in the closet!
Is there an age limit?
As a guideline we usually recommend 12 years old as a good age for kids to start playing. Every case is different however as the young person must be able to follow instructions very closely to ensure the safety of themselves and the people playing with them. We also want to ensure that everyone's first experience is a great experience, so if you have any questions or doubts please reach out and we can discuss it.
